Marie Leguizamo serves as Managing Director for Banijay Mexico & U.S. Hispanic, a division of Banijay Americas, home to some of the biggest brands in television in the United States and Latin America. Named as one of The Hollywood Reporter's Most Powerful Women in International Television, Leguizamo oversees the Mexico City- and Los Angeles-based studio and is focused on developing and producing original content in both English and Spanish for broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms in the Mexican and U.S. Hispanic markets. Since its launch in 2022, Banijay Mexico & U.S. Hispanic has created a production hub in Mexico City, which produced the hit comedy series LOL: Last One Laughing for Prime Video in Mexico, Argentina and Colombia. Most recently, in expanding its relationship with Prime Video, the studio was instrumental in bringing the reality dating format Temptation Island to Latin America, establishing a production hub for local versions in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina/Chile. Other productions include seasons one and two of the comedy series Jalas o te Rajas with Escorpion Dorado and Facundo for Prime Video. Prior to joining Banijay Mexico and U.S. Hispanic, Leguizamo served as a showrunner and executive producer on numerous top Spanish-language series including projects produced by Banijay Mexico and U.S. Hispanic's sister company Endemol Shine Boomdog. Her credits include La Voz Kids (Telemundo), Pequeños Gigantes USA (Univision), Mira Quien Baila (Univision) and La Gran Sorpresa (Univision). Leguizamo has produced unscripted television for nearly two decades, and her vision and concepts have led to record-breaking ratings and successes. She has been recognized twice by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences with Emmy nominations for her work on La Voz Kids; she also has garnered multiple Daytime Emmy nominations for LOL: Last One Laughing Mexico. Leguizamo was honored by the Imagen Foundation as one of 2024's "Influential Latinos in Media" and included in HOLA!'s 100 Latina Powerhouse list. Leguizamo and her team at Banijay Mexico & U.S. Hispanic have made sustainability a priority, with all of its productions over the last two years receiving green certification.
